 about

Art has become such an integral part of my family’s and my life it is hard to imagine that not very long ago I had very little knowledge of it.

Unfortunately, I’m not one of those lucky people who grew up with art.  In fact, for one reason or another, I tried to avoid art as much as I could.  Fortunately, once I discovered it as an adult, I’ve had the support to successfully submerge myself and those close to me into a wonderfully artful life.

I first discovered art in the form of crystal and wire and had a brief fling with it right before my kids came along.  With kids in my life, all I could think about in the few following years was formulas and diapers (and in that order).  It wasn’t until my kids became somewhat self-sufficient did I start exploring art at full speed.  Once the flood gate opened up, there was no stopping.

Over the years I have explored many different art medium.  While I enjoyed them all and revisit all of them from time to time, watercolor remains my first and foremost love.

I have always been a very visually sensitive person.  Many images, be it landscape, animals, or city scenes, often invoke a strong feeling within me.  A lot of the time I can’t articulate that feeling but I know it when I feel it.  It is that feeling that compels me to create.  It is also this feeling that I aim to convey in my art rather than the actual image.

It is my hope that as I grow in this artful journey through life, I am able to share it with you here on these pages.
